Staff Software Engineer - (employer: Sirius XM Radio LLC; job location: Oakland, CA) - Develop high quality software for iOS devices. Analyze requirements and translate them into complex technical specifications, develop core services and web applications, and develop, maintain and debug cloud-based microservice APIs. Design, develop, test and modify sophisticated software engineering systems and applications across the Apple ecosystem. Requirements: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Applied Mathematics, plus three years of experience in the position offered or a software engineering/development position or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Applied Mathematics, plus five years of progressive post-Bachelor’s experience in the position offered or a software engineering/development position. All required experience must have included performing native iOS development, including developing, testing and debugging mobile applications using Swift and Objective C; applying object-oriented and reactive design, concurrency and multithreaded programming techniques on Apple platforms; using understanding of engineering software processes, lifecycle methodology, configuration management, release management and system verification and testing; providing streaming media direct to consumers; optimizing network service stacks for increased performance (e.g. reduced load times, battery drain) for all connection levels; designing high availability, multi-tier, mission critical and fault tolerant systems; leading projects and mentoring other engineers; knowledge of emerging iOS development trends and design patterns; working with digital advertising; and using SwiftUI and async/await. #LI-DNI This role entails hybrid work, with time split between working in our Oakland, CA office and flexibility to telecommute from another U.S. location.
