As a passionate and experienced Staff Software Engineer at Ivanti, you will be joining our dynamic and innovative software development team. You will play a critical role in designing, developing, and delivering high-quality software solutions that empower our customers to implement IT and security operations efficiently. You will be responsible for diagnosing and debugging complex customer issues and providing innovative solutions to ensure a seamless user experience.

By combining market insights, strategic planning, and cross-functional collaboration, the Engineering organization ensures every product release meets evolving user needs and competitive demands. This team is instrumental in developing Ivanti's purpose-built platform for CIOs and CISOs powered by Ivanti Neurons - a cloud-scale, hyperautomation layer that enables proactive healing, user-friendly security across the organization and provides an enhanced user experience. This department plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's growth trajectory through continuous innovation and customer-centric solutions.
What You Will Be Doing
Identify, diagnose, and resolve complex software issues.
Monitor and optimize application performance for both existing and new applications.
Debug and troubleshoot customer issues, providing effective solutions and ensuring customer satisfaction.
Review design, code, and test cases.
Implement and enforce security best practices throughout the software development lifecycle to ensure robust and secure applications.
Work with cross-functional groups including engineering leadership, architects, product management, technical support, sales engineering, OS vendors, and customers to understand, analyze and resolve field issues.
Guide QA/ Automation team to design and develop stable, repeatable test environments that cover production use cases to prevent escapes.
Champion a culture of innovation, in an environment that requires high levels of scalability, security and reliability.
Mentor and coach team members on debugging techniques and best practices.
Utilize monitoring and analytics tools to proactively identify potential issues.
Explore opportunities to automate repetitive debugging tasks.
Contribute to the development of tools and frameworks that enhance the team’s ability to identify and resolve issues.
To Be Successful in The Role, You Will Have
B.E. / B.Tech with 9+ years of experience.
Strong expertise and working experience in Java programming.
Proficiency in backend development with Spring Framework and RESTful APIs.
Familiarity with AWS/Azure services such as EKS, ELB, Lambda, S3 or RDS (Postgres)
Knowledge of orchestration systems such as Kubernetes, and distributed streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.
Understanding of networking and operating systems, with experience in multi-threading, Socket & IO Programming, security protocol stacks.
Strong Networking & Systems fundamentals related to performance, scale and factors outside the JVM that impact the system.
Experience in SQL programming
Proven experience with Redis and Elasticsearch.
Experience with continuous delivery and associated technologies including Docker, Jenkins, Chef / Puppet.
Must have excellent troubleshooting skills. Be the firefighter on major escalations.
Excellent skills in debugging and code analysis
Good teamwork and communication skills
Willingness to work under pressure, interaction with multiple internal and external teams. “Getting Things Done” mentality.
Preferred
Good understanding of security and networking concepts (SSL, PKI, HTTP, TCP/IP)
Good knowledge of frontend technologies like Angular is a plus.
Knowledge on Python, Powershell, or other scripting languages
Familiarity with observability tools such as New Relic.
Familiarity with Kanban Agile methodology
