About the team

The Commerce Systems Automation and Acceleration (CSAA) team at Stripe is dedicated to revolutionizing the company's financial ecosystem through innovative automation solutions. Our mission is to empower Stripe's financial operations by streamlining and optimizing critical processes such as invoicing, revenue recognition, fund flow, and e-invoicing. By developing cutting-edge technologies, we aim to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability across Stripe's financial landscape, ultimately enabling the company to deliver seamless financial experiences to its users while maintaining compliance in a rapidly evolving global marketplace. One of our key focuses is achieving Unified Global Invoicing Excellence, where we simplify and streamline invoicing processes across all geographies, developing a flexible and scalable platform that adapts to local regulations. This automation allows us to create a unified user experience for generating, sending, and managing invoices globally, significantly reducing manual work and errors while improving overall user satisfaction.

Another crucial aspect of our team's work is Expedited Delivery with Regulatory Compliance for Revenue Recognition. We are committed to accelerating the implementation of revenue recognition processes while ensuring full compliance with local and international accounting standards. Our team is developing a system that can quickly adapt to changing regulatory requirements, creating automated checks and balances to maintain accuracy while increasing speed. This enables Stripe to confidently navigate complex regulatory landscapes while delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, which in turn unblocks the expansion of the Commerce Systems suite. Through our efforts in both global invoicing and revenue recognition, we strive to solidify Stripe's position as a leader in financial technology and support its mission to increase the GDP of the internet, allowing for quick addition of new commercial constructs and enhancing Stripe's overall capabilities.

What you’ll do

We are seeking an experienced technical leader to join our team to shape and build platforms to support Stripe’s accounting needs. In this role, you will work closely with engineering managers, senior engineers, and cross-functional partners to design the technical architecture of the product to enable scale, interoperability and an amazing user experience. You will help grow the team to become a strong leader in delivering the Commerce Systems vision. You will also have the opportunity to be hands-on in building key systems, while mentoring and leading other engineers. Join us in spearheading a transformational opportunity for Stripe.

Responsibilities Manage the technical leadership, execution, and roadmap for Revenue and Finance automation suite.  Lead by example by designing and implementing critical platforms that enable seamless interoperability across the RFA suite of products. Partner closely with engineering, product, and design leadership to define our product strategy and user experience. Establish best practices, frameworks, and repeatable processes that enable the team to execute effectively. Foster a culture of learning and data-driven decision making on the team and the broader organization. Mentor and support the growth of engineers at different levels in their careers. Who you are

Minimum requirements 10+ years of hands-on experience building large-scale, distributed systems Proven track record of building large scale, complex distributed systems; identifying shortcomings and optimization opportunities; and making data driven cost performance tradeoffs to influence design decisions Experience building and operating infrastructure and tools that empower developers/product teams to deliver business value Experience leading and creating strong technical teams that balance operational excellence, collaboration and user needs Strong collaboration skills to work effectively across multiple teams and stakeholders. Past experience mentoring and investing in the development of engineers. Preferred qualifications Experience with infrastructure automation. Experience with multiple programming languages, including Java, Python Experience building accounting related systems.
