Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) is seeking an experienced, senior-level Software Engineer in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting our Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU). This role is for the Mission Processing Thread Lead who leads a group of systems and software engineers developing mission processing solutions across multiple Ground programs.
What you’ll get to do: As a Software Engineer on this team, you will lead a large team of teams developing, testing, and deploying a software system focused on mission processing. You will also verify and validate requirements for a Ground Segment. In this role, you will be supporting program leadership and the customer to define and maintain the technical baseline. Ultimately, you will support the program through maturity and milestones to achieve the mission, ensuring everything is synchronized.
We have multiple Systems and Software Engineering positions across the Ground program, on contract to deliver the ground segment for a restricted space program. This work will span command and control, mission planning and scheduling, mission processing, and system infrastructure. We have anticipated future growth to deliver additional ground capabilities.
The successful candidate will have broad Systems and Software Engineering lifecycle knowledge, with the ability to manage changes and present options for managing scope and dependencies to the technical and management teams in concise briefings. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment and to be highly self-motivated. The ideal candidate is a leader who is experienced leading other Integrated Product Team (IPT) leads and who excels in keeping the program management and the customer informed. The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions, and working in a very collaborative and fast paced environment that continues to grow.
This position will be located at either our Morrisville, North Carolina or our Aurora, Colorado locations. This position requires being onsite and does not support remote or hybrid work. (Compensation varies per location)
Basic Qualifications

Salary Range: $155,400.00 - $256,400.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
