Staff Software Engineer - Orange Apron Media Data Engineering (Remote)

Position Purpose:

Orange Apron Media is The Home Depot's premier retail media program. We empower brands and retailers with cutting-edge digital solutions that drive engagement, efficiency, and growth. As we continue to expand, we are seeking an ambitious and talented Staff Data Engineer to join our engineering team. What You'll Do:

Build and optimize ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) and ELT (Extract, Load, Transform) processes to ingest, clean, and transform data from various sources.Design and implement scalable, secure, and high-performance data architectures that support both real-time and batch processing.Work closely with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to understand data requirements and deliver appropriate solutions.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a team of data engineers, helping them grow their skills and advance their careers.Implement data security practices, including data encryption, access controls, and compliance with industry regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of learning and growth

The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for leading a team of engineers building and designing a product that our customers and associates love. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be part of a dynamic team with engineers of all experience levels who help each other build and grow technical and leadership skills while creating, deploying, and supporting production applications. In addition, Staff Software Engineers will assist in product and tool selection, configuration, security, resilience, performance tuning and production monitoring.
Staff Software Engineers contribute to foundational code elements that can be reused as well as architectural diagrams and other product-related documentation. As a Staff Software Engineer, you will be a core player on the product team and are expected to build and grow the skillsets of the more junior Engineers.

Physical Requirements:

Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.

Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
