The Tactical Space Systems Division is seeking a Mechanical Analysis & Design Engineer to work within the mechanical ground support equipment (MGSE) section in our Gilbert, Arizona facility.
This role will work with MGSE engineering leads and Integration and Test managers across Gilbert product lines to drive design, analysis, integration and delivery of MGSE to support Satellite Manufacturing Facility operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Provides technical leadership, direction, and mentoring to other engineers within the MGSE section.Ability to Lead MGSE development and work as an individual contributor performing detailed MGSE design and utilizing modeling CREO parametric Computer Aided Design (CAD) and other software tools to develop and document designs.Review/Perform cost and schedule planning for MGSE projects and proposalsAbility to Lead MGSE analysis and work as an individual contributor through MGSE analysis utilizing hand calculations and FEMAP (Finite Element Modeling And Postprocessing).Review of completed analyses and drawings to ensure designs and analysis conform to MGSE standardsCoordination and communication with customers, programs, Integration and Test (I&T), functional management, other engineering disciplines and component suppliers.Concise presentation and explanation of structural issues/solutions to internal management and customer representatives.This requisition may be filled at a higher-grade base on qualifications listed below.

Basic Qualifications for a Staff Engineer:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 13 years of experience; 11 years with Master’s degree; 7 years with PhD.Basic Qualifications for a Sr. Principal Engineer:
Bachelor of Science degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) discipline and 9 years of experience; 7 years with Master’s degree; 4 years with PhD.Additional Basic Qualifications for both positions:
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government DoD security clearance with Special Access Program (SAP) clearance.Current experience in structural analysis methods and documentation, including hand-sheet analysis, as well as the development and manipulation of large Finite Element Models using FEMAP.Current experience in mechanical design utilizing CREO ParametricCurrent experience generating Model Based Drawings with application of GD&T in accordance with ASME Y14.5 standard.Ability to provide technical leadership, over-site and direction to MGSE teams.Strong understanding of engineering principles, processes and applications (engineering standards, configuration management, material review board, process control, tooling, facilities, software, etc.).Combination of knowledge and experience in the following areas: complex integration and qualification/acceptance testing, product development including mechanical design and analysis, materialsDemonstrated ability to make difficult technical decisions with data driven judgment.Strong oral and written communication skills, including demonstrated experience with high value customer presentations, with ability to focus on multiple projects with competing priorities.Preferred Qualifications:
