Staff Systems Engineer - DDI
Job Description SummaryThis Staff Systems Engineer role will be focused on the DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM) Network Infrastructure landscape within Aerospace – for the integration of DNS, DHCP, and IPAM (IP Address Management) into a unified service or solution. The successful candidate will be responsible for engineering and operational activities for our newly designed DDI ecosystem. The candidate will work directly with our Sr DDI Architect and Principal Architect to execute on requirements and design changes. Candidate will work closely with the GE Aerospace Separation (Network, Cloud, etc) teams to inform their thinking/solutioning.

Essential Responsibilities:

Responsible for executing any support needs around our DDI ecosystem (DNS, DHCP, IPAM infrastructure)Responsible for managing address allocations and integrity of the data in the domain registrarsExecution of service and technology standards across the network footprintCollaborate with stakeholders to develop consensus, drive results, and execute projects across the organization on time and within budgetManage several simultaneous projects from conception through implementationDevelop and maintain standards and designs for DDI network infrastructure and global IP registrarsArticulate design rationale, flexibly adapt solutions, and iterate designs when requiredWork closely with senior management, and network engineering and operations teamsEnhances efficiency via automation when and wherever possibleAct as an escalation engineer for high severity network related production issues, work with engineers and various vendors to identify tactical and strategic solutions

Basic Qualifications:

Must have 3-5 years of proven experience designing, deploying, and managing DDI (DNS, DHCP and IPAM), project delivery with focus on performance optimization and scalabilityDeep understanding of network architecture designs with In-depth knowledge of DNS, NTP, IPAM, BIND, and DHCPKnowledge on network management and monitoring platformsRecommend network improvements, including cost/benefit analysis, to meet changing business requirementsSharp troubleshooting faculties, deductive reasoning, and careful attention to detailIndependent and self-directed work ethic when participating in a collaborative environmentStrong communication skills both verbal and written to develop technical documentationExcellent communication skills; ability to perform under pressure and detail orientedDedicated commitment to service availability and quality user experienceMust be results driven with a strong sense of urgency

The base pay range for this position is $110,700 - $184,600. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on September 30th, 2024.
