Staff Systems Engineer - Telematics Control Unit

The Systems Integration Engineer working on Telematics will be responsible for complete end to end integration of Telematics Control Unit (TCU) and participate in the system level design activities for the subsystem. You will be the point person for anything TCU related on this platform and lead the bring up activities in each of the vehicle builds. You will Conceptualize, Design, Engineer, Develop and support the launch of next-generation vehicle platforms for electric vehicles.

B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields Strong Electrical and Embedded Systems Engineering fundamentals 5+ years of experience with Vehicle Network Protocols such as CAN, USB & Automotive Ethernet 5+ years of experience developing systems in the connectivity domain using 3GPP protocol stack including 5G ( and its variants), 4G - LTE• Experience and working knowledge of systems development, vehicle architecture, software/hardware tool development, , functional safety, network and diagnostics process. Strong foundations in software systems design of networking and embedded areas covering the complete software development life cycle.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering or related fields Excellent teamwork, problem-solving, communication, and project management skills Experience in leading product development from concept to deployment Strong written and verbal communication skills An eagerness to work cross-functionally in a dynamic environment where you are part of a high performing team A systems approach to design and development with the desire and curiosity to strive for exceptional delivery execution and continuous improvement

Lead the design, integration and functional testing of Telematics Control Unit (TCU) Characterize the cellular system by arranging the antenna modules in various location and analyzing the results to determine the optimal architecture for different vehicle topologies Define system level objective performance targets and design the TCU system in collaboration with other engineers from various cross-functional teams. Collaborate with the software team to tune the performance of the Telephony and GNSS systems to deliver exceptional customer experience. Develop the TCU system with various cross-functional teams such as Controls, Security, Hardware and UX to realize the overall objectives within budget and program time. Develop detailed electrical device transmittals for various connectivity components and own the document until production. Work closely with factory and manufacturing teams to ensure the successful deployment of the TCU in vehicles, addressing connectivity and diagnostic issues. Report feature development progress and maturity at various program milestones.
