Job Description:

Location: Palo Alto, CA

The User Interface Engineering team for VMware vDefend product portfolio, part of the newly formed Application Networking and Security Division at Broadcom is looking for a User Interface Development Engineer, who shares our real passion for innovating and crafting the best customer, user experience.

The engineer in this position is expected to work in-person with his/her immediate team full-time, at Broadcom Palo Alto campus.

As a senior member in the team, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our Network Security products by designing, developing, and maintaining world-class user interfaces. A Staff Engineer is a technical leading individual at Broadcom. In this role, you will be driving the technical design discussions, decisions, planning, executing, and provisioning for UI engineering initiatives that will bring out the best possible experience our customers and users may have.

You will be expected to have working knowledge of user interface engineering, user-centered design, and cloud-based application architectures.  You will need to be an expert in browser technologies and a strong sense of pixel-perfect design appreciation.  You will apply all these expertise and real passion for UI engineering to guide design processes, to own the development and delivery of the user interface for VMware vDefend product portfolio.

Responsibilities

Drive in the design, development, document of client-side architecture initiatives and product feature development life cyclesDrive the process of developing user models, prototyping and crafting user interfacesBuild simple-to-use interfaces for a complex Network & Security solutionsAdapt and apply new technologies, best design practices and usability patternsCollaborate with UX Designers, Product Managers, Technical Architects, and cross-functional Engineering teams to optimize the designs in order to delight our usersStrongly disciplined in delivering high quality productLead team through solving customer reported problems, ensuring resolutions meet service level agreementsAdvocate for usability and quality of our productsBe an innovator and coach, mentor others to innovate

Requirements

Have solid background in OOP, modern browser-based, pixel-perfect UI for cloud-scale applicationsPossess expert level in UI development and public API design for large scale software systemStrong sense of product usability, as user advocateStrong organization and task management skillsHave previous successes with leading projects that involves dozens of people from multiple cross-functional teamsAble to quickly identify risks, recommend avoidances, and handle known risksExcellent in verbal and written communication skills

Education/Experience

Bachelors in Computer Science/Engineering and 0-2+ years related experience

Compensation and Benefits

The annual base salary range for this position is $115,800 

This position is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus in accordance with relevant plan documents, and equity in accordance with equity plan documents and equity award agreements.
