Responsibilities

This is a key role within the Talent Management team, reporting to the VP of Talent Management, and will serve as a strategic partner and owner of critical talent processes, practices, and priorities. This includes strategies and progress targeted at developing and moving our talent across the company, and ensuring the organization has consistent, effective, efficient, and integrated organization-wide processes for performance management, talent reviews, succession planning, development planning, competencies, and career management. To be effective these processes must be closely integrated with key stakeholders including executive business leaders, HR Business Partners, Total Rewards, Diversity and Inclusion, the FM Global Academy, and must be appropriate for a global workforce.

 

Leads and guides a team focused on the review, update or redesign of Performance Management and Succession Planning practices and programs to ensure they are fit for purpose, relevant to the business and consistent across the entire organization.​

 

Provides leadership for and operationalizes the talent review and succession planning process related to the identification and assessment of internal talent enterprise-wide, including consulting in the creation of development interventions and plans.​

 

Provides leadership for and operationalizes the performance management process from goal setting to performance reviews, incorporating multi-rater feedback practices, and integrating with the Total Rewards team to ensure alignment with reward philosophies such as pay-for-performance.​

 

Designs competency architectures and career paths by building a framework and tools to organize and align roles across the organization.

Evaluates and tracks key metrics to influence talent management program direction, monitor business impact and optimizes organization effectiveness.​ Manages key stakeholders, including HR leadership, HR colleagues, business and executive leadership.

 

Develops and implements change management strategies at all levels of the organization for new and revised programs and practices.

 

Researches, identifies, and incorporates external leading best practices, innovations, and trends into design of talent management solutions where appropriate. 

 

Provides design input to the FM Global Academy on leadership and manager training as well as development programs.

 

Works to ensure the employee and manager experience are core elements of the performance and succession practices​.

 

Partners with Corporate Communications on global employee and manager communication regarding annual talent processes.

 

Plays a talent partner role, providing consultation to the HRBP team on all talent related capabilities​.

 

Collaborates and partners closely with HR Business Partners, FM Global Academy, Total Rewards, DEI, and key business stakeholders to ensure solutions are aligned to critical business needs and support outcomes from talent reviews and succession planning.

 

Leads and develops direct reports, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship. ​

Qualifications 10 years of experience in talent management or organizational development, with experience leading performance management and talent review/succession planning processes in a global organization5 years of managerial/people leadership experienceBachelors degree in HR, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business or related field

Previous experience in building a talent management organizationPrevious experience working with engineering leaders, in an engineering based organizationHR Business Partner experienceWorkday experience, and working with HR Operations/IT on Workday configurationAbility to build relationships at all levels of the organizationAbility to manage multiple stakeholders at all levels of the organizationAbility to influence, and previous change management experienceAbility to manage multiple, competing priorities and delivering high quality outcomesHighly accountable for achieving goals and objectives; a strong self-starterAbility to balance being strategic with being involved in the day-to-dayMasters degree in HR, Organizational Development, Psychology, Business or related field

Location and Work Model:

Location: role may be based at the FM Global offices in either Johnston RI (strongly preferred), Norwood MA, Boston MA, or Parsippany NJMust be willing to work onsite at one of the above FM Global offices a minimum of 3 days per weekTravel: dependent on work location, Johnston RI will have minimal travel, other locations will need to be in Johnston on a regular basis as needed

 

The final salary offer will vary based on individual education, skills, and experience.
