FTE: 0.3, Shift: Day, Schedule: 7:00am - 7:30pm


 

Position Summary

Assists licensed healthcare staff in a variety of ways in the patient care setting, taking direction from staff RN, LPNs, Nurse Managers and other leaders. Transports patients to and from service and treatment areas using wheelchairs or moveable beds. Provides observation and minimal assistance with a constant focus on safety in the medical and suicidal patient population.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

Follows established hospital policy regarding patient safety measures such as infection prevention, safe patient handling and movement, notification of the licensed nurse when patient behavior/activities change to insure patient safety. May assist ambulatory patients in wheelchairs, and assist a core transporter with moving beds. Provide constant observation to those requiring a 1:1 sitter, working with the patient care team to ensure seamless safety coverage. Demonstrates respect and compassion for all patients, patient family members, and staff. Demonstrates punctuality and attentiveness to schedule. Transports equipment and supplies and delivers them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas. Documents accurately and efficiently all patient behaviors and activities at the time intervals set by policy related to the type of sitter service being provided. Communicates to appropriate team member's pertinent patient information in order to improve patient outcomes and maintain patient safety.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

Education: High School diploma or GED equivalent required.

Experience: Customer service experience required. Experience in a medical environment preferred.

Pay and Benefit Expectations

We provide a comprehensive benefits package, including competitive salary, medical, dental and retirement benefits and paid time off. As required by various pay transparency laws, we share a competitive range of compensation for candidates hired into each position. The pay scale is $18.10 - $24.45 USD. However, pay is influenced by factors specific to applicants, including but not limited to: skill set, level of experience, and certification(s) and/or education. If this position is associated with a union contract, pay will be reflective of the appropriate step on the pay scale to which the applicant’s years of experience align.
