Summary:
Riverside Healthcare in Kankakee, Illinois, is seeking a highly organized and proactive Patient Care Services Staffing Coordinator to join our team. This key role will be responsible for ensuring that patient care departments are adequately staffed with qualified personnel to meet patient needs and optimize operational efficiency. The Staffing Coordinator will collaborate closely with management and clinical staff to facilitate scheduling, workforce planning, and staff support. Demonstrates flexibility with assignments within professional scope/duties/licensure.



Required Experience:




Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience in staffing coordination or human resources within a healthcare environment is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of healthcare staffing regulations and best practices.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to foster positive relationships among staff and management.
• Proficiency in electronic scheduling systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of labor laws and compliance regulations related to staffing is a plus.


Required Licensure/Education:

• Associate's degree in Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, or a related field
• Team member will maintain annual education requirements for hospital-based certifications (e.g. DNV CARF and or others)


Preferred Licensure/Education:

Bachelor's degree preferred

Compensation:

Minimum hourly rate: $21.49

Maximum hourly rate: $25.82

 

Responsibilities:
Essential Job Duties:

• Develop and manage staffing schedules for patient care departments, ensuring optimal coverage and compliance with organizational policies.
• Collaborate with department managers to assess staffing needs, manage vacancies, and plan for seasonal or fluctuating patient volumes.
• Maintain accurate records of staff availability, leave requests, and shifts worked to ensure proper staffing levels at all times.
• Communicate effectively with nursing and clinical staff regarding schedule changes, staffing adjustments, and any issues that may arise.
• Assist in the onboarding and orientation process for new staff members, ensuring a smooth transition into their roles.
• Monitor staffing metrics and report on trends related to overtime, vacancy rates, and staff turnover to inform management decisions.
• Participate in meetings with leadership to discuss staffing strategies, challenges, and solutions. These are duties that MUST be performed in this job, with or without reasonable accommodation.
