Staffing Coordinator - Float Pool
Full-time / Day-shift / 4:30 AM to 3:00 PM, Four ten-hour shifts per week. One to two weekends per month. One Summer Holiday and One Winter Holiday required.

POSITION SUMMARY
The Staffing Assistant II NU is responsible for verifying daily unit staffing, assigning agency & per diem staff to units, communicating needs to UMCAP approved agencies, processing agency invoices, monitoring the Transport board during the absence of the Manager. Incumbents in this position are scheduled to work less than 1000 hours per year.
Principal Duties:
Maintains all unit staffing boards verifying actual staff assigned per shift.Prints daily boards at the beginning of each week from the electronic scheduling system.Verifies staffing on the daily staffing boards for the next 24-hours with the Manager/designee daily between 08:00-10:00.Alerts appropriate management of staffing problems.Documents call-outs and records them in the electronic scheduling system.Notifies units of callouts, logs callouts into electronic scheduling system.Reviews daily and weekend staffing boards 24-4& hours in advance to alert Managers of staffing needsCalculates staffing needs based on approved staffing grids and l :1 protocol.Procures personnel (supplemental, agency personnel and if necessary, unit staff) to meet staffing needs.Assigns supplemental staff on units and updates staffing boards accurately.Assigns supplemental staff on units and updates staffing boardsDemonstrates proficiency with daily staffing responsibilities.Verifies agency bills and submits invoices fur payment.Performs secretarial duties accurately within designated time-f'rames such as typing and filing.Completes assigned office projects accurately within designated timeframes.Monitors the Transport board in the absence of the Manager.Procurement of Specialty Beds for all units except ED.Accept Per Diem Pool schedules.Performs additional duties as assigned by Department Manager or Charge Nurse.Proficient in electronic scheduling systemCompany Description

Applicable Experience (years): Required: 1 - 3 years
Experience (describe required & preferred): Unit Clerk or Office Manager or similar position in a healthcare setting or equivalent.
