St. John's Regional Medical Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Staffing Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This crucial role supports the efficient and effective operation of our hospital by managing the scheduling and allocation of nursing and other clinical staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain accurate staffing schedules for nursing and other clinical departments, ensuring adequate coverage based on patient census, acuity, and skill mix. Collaborate with department managers to forecast staffing needs and address potential shortfalls.Manage the onboarding and orientation process for new staff, ensuring compliance with all hospital policies and procedures.Track and manage employee time and attendance, ensuring accuracy and compliance with labor regulations. Respond to staffing emergencies and implement contingency plans as needed. Maintain accurate records and generate reports related to staffing levels, costs, and productivity. Utilize and maintain the hospital's scheduling software and other relevant systems. Participate in performance improvement initiatives related to staffing and scheduling. Build and maintain strong relationships with clinical staff, department managers, and other stakeholders. Assist with recruitment efforts as needed. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent.A minimum of three years of varied, increasingly responsible secretarial experience.Maintains confidentiality of issues as necessary. Excellent communication skills and maintains effective public relations with departmental clientele. Ability to be an effective team member. A thorough knowledge of correct English usage, including grammar, spelling, vocabulary, and punctuation. Good interpersonal skills. Ability to use a variety of office equipment, FAX, telephones, copy machines, computers, typewriters, etc. A thorough knowledge of department organization, policies, and procedures as well as a general knowledge of the Medical Center's structure. Establish and maintain clerical procedures and standards. Work independently and perform a variety of assignments.
