STAFFING COORDINATOR

Summary

JOB SUMMARY: The Staffing Coordinator facilitates the Department of Nursing staffing of the hospital by utilizing and identifying available nursing resources, under the direction of Director and Assistant Director of Virtual Hospital, based upon unit needs and staff/census. Identifies and reports fluctuations to maintain cost-effective staffing patterns. Supports Management in maintaining accurate demographic, skills, and scheduling information on all nursing employees in a computerized scheduling system. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Scheduling: Optimizes the scheduling of daily staff, PRN, Flex Pool, and agency personnel to meet established staffing guidelines. Accuracy:  Maintains and updates UKG, daily staffing log, call out log, onboarding log, and sitter placement log to ensure accuracy of scheduling information. Communication: Communicates professionally (oral and written) in a clear, concise, and factual manner. Sound Decision-Making: Utilizes all available data and job knowledge for effective problem-solving. Patient Throughput Assists team in Operations Resource Center as appropriate. Clerical and Secretarial: Provides administrative support to the Nursing Operations leadership team/Hospital Operations Coordinator in the absence of the Office Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS: Entry level knowledge; basic employment skills. Degree or HS Diploma not required . Experience: 1-3 years.
