Located on the PSU campus in downtown Portland, the Center provides a model early childhood program for the children of Portland State University students, faculty and staff, and the Portland community. The Center is a laboratory for students and faculty participating in observation, practice and research activities in Early Childhood Education, Child and Family Studies, psychology, and related fields. Accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children, the Center serves children aged six weeks to six years.
The Staffing Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing all aspects of the Center’s staffing which includes assisting management in the hiring, orienting and scheduling of full-time employees. This position is responsible for hiring, orienting and scheduling temporary classified employees and student employees. This position reports to the Program Coordinator.



Minimum Qualifications from Classification Two years of general clerical experience. One year of which included typing, word processing, or other experience generating documents; OR
An Associate’s degree in Office Occupations or Office Technology; OR
Graduation from a private school of business with a Certificate in Office Occupations or Office Technology AND one year of general clerical experience.

Note:
College courses in Office Occupations or Office Technology will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis. Additional Minimum Qualifications for this Position Two years of clerical and administrative experience Two or more years of combined teaching and administration in an early childhood program. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Intermediate proficiency in MS Excel Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Google Docs. Ability to create and edit documents, including formatting text, inserting images and tables, and checking for grammar and spelling errors



Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Child Development, Early Childhood Education or a related field. Working knowledge of Banweb and EPAF hire process Working knowledge of PeopleAdmin position management and applicant tracking system

Work Days/Hours Monday-Friday 8am-5pm Total Compensation Range & Benefits Statement The starting salary rate for this position will be between $17.24 and $19.29 per hour. The starting salary may be negotiable above this range, however it will be dependent upon the knowledge, experience, skills and abilities of the chosen candidate, the budget of the hiring department, and approval from HR. SEIU rates increase by 2% on 11/1/24.
