Staffing Support Coordinator

Overview

• Ensures OTJ floor orientation and training of new employees is completed according to regulations and within the required time limits. Conducts regular reviews of training program alongside the training coordinator using approved evaluation procedures. Identifies program candidate training needs through interview, survey, observation, discussion at hire, ongoing observation, and at regular intervals. Provides supervisors with daily feedback of new hires to assist with initial onboarding.
• Coordinate and oversee the organization’s new hire mentoring program by developing program goals, matching mentors with mentees, providing training and resources, monitoring progress, and evaluating outcomes. Ensure the program fosters professional growth, enhances employee engagement, and aligns with organizational objectives.
• Serve as a company trainer in approved physical intervention and de-escalation techniques, conducting staff training sessions to ensure employee preparedness and compliance with organizational standards. Promote safe and effective responses to challenging situations; demonstrates excellence with de-escalation techniques.
• Conduct and document monthly staff fidelity checklists to ensure adherence to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. This position may need to be available to observe on all three shifts. Identify areas for improvement, provide feedback, and support staff and managers in maintaining consistent
performance and compliance; checklists are performed for DSPs on all shifts; this position must be available to flex their schedule as needed
• Conducts side-by-side training in the milieu to ensure competency in real-time as well as 1:1 training/consulting sessions for staff as needed. Works to improving their competency and the overall care of the students. Maintains training certifications. Maintains training records of staff as needed for licensing reviews.
• Supports staff during interventions, intervening, and directly assisting when necessary. Maintains self-control during crisis intervention. Uses appropriate and effective approaches with students. Properly and safely implements agency approved intervention techniques; able to maintain good rapport with all stakeholders. Models excellent verbal de-escalation skills.
• Conduct and document monthly reviews of incidents for each shift and unit, analyzing trends, identifying areas for improvement, and ensuring compliance with organizational policies. Provide feedback and recommendations to enhance safety, performance, and operational efficiency.
• Facilitate immediate debriefs with staff following critical incidents to provide support, review events, and identify opportunities for improvement. Ensure proper documentation and promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous learning.
• Keeps up-to-date OTJT forms and coaching logs and provides those to Program Managers or Coordinators on an ongoing basis to ensure the development of programming fidelity; timely and thorough documentation is essential for this position
• Conducts self in positive, respectful and collaborative manner demonstrating proactive actions and decision making that foster supportive work relationships and a healthy and safe environment.
• Communicates effectively verbally and in writing with internal and external customers maintaining professional conduct and confidentiality.
• Complies with and positively reinforces policy and procedure expectations outlined in: Company Handbook; TCH policies and procedures and maintains confidentiality.
• Supports staff with their professional development goals, coaches in the moment and focuses on retention efforts for the programming department
• Attends supervisory meetings, in-services, and other meetings as scheduled.
• Holds a valid Indiana driver's license and chauffeur/public passenger license, preferred
• May provide coverage support for Program Coordinators during their absence to ensure seamless program operations
• May provide shift coverage as needed to address staffing shortages, ensuring continuity of operations and maintaining quality standards in service delivery.
• May support the programming department outside of normal business hours, including holidays and third shift observations
• Ensures a diverse, equitable and inclusive working environment for staff and makes decisions or recommendations that align with the MyPath DEI policy

Additional Information

Associate’s Degree or 2 years’ experience working in a child-caring institution required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Education, Human Services, or Business, preferred.
