Job Description

The Manufacturing Engineer will help to develop press tooling design, techniques, procedures, fixtures, and applications to produce high-quality parts as cost-effectively as possible.

ResponsibilitiesPlan and formulate engineering programs and organize project staff according to project requirements.Assign project personnel to specific phases or aspects of projects.Work with corporate sales in quoting new tooling programs for future business.Review product, tooling, and equipment design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.Coordinate activities with vendors or other departments concerning tooling and equipment procurement or modification.Work with customers and quality assurance in resolving design and test problems.Evaluate and approve design changes, specifications, and drawing releases.Control expenditures within the limitations of the project budget.Help troubleshoot difficult tooling, equipment, and quality issues.Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, workflow, and design layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency.Essential SkillsExperience in stamping and tooling design.Experience with presses (300-1500 ton) and weld cells.Hands-on troubleshooting experience.Proficiency in designing and redesigning stamping tooling using AutoCAD.Experience in continuous improvement and managing continuous improvement projects.Experience leading or assisting in launches for new programs.Project management skills.Additional Skills & QualificationsPreferred: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.Previous stamping experience is required.Work Environment

The engineering department includes an Engineering Manager and a Senior Engineer who is currently working remotely due to health issues but brings a lot of experience and will be retiring in a year. The facility in Dickson has over 10 presses ranging from 300-1500 tons and more than 30 weld cells. The plant is currently running at 50% capacity, with room for growth and additional engineering support as capacity increases. The plant serves customers like BMW, Honda, Ford, Toyota, Nissan, and Adient, and is positioning itself well for future programs.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $41.00 - $53.00
