Standard Plant Manager (Full Time) - Montreal, QC

Primary Responsibilities

Reporting to the Plant Manager, the person will be primarily responsible for the maintenance, reliability and proper operation of several automated plants located across Quebec and Ontario.
He or she directly supervises the facilities’ technicians, hires contractors and/or subcontractors as required, and is responsible for the maintenance of the facility's key performance indicators.

Location: Main Office – Montreal East

Safety and environment

Ensure that employees comply with standard operating procedures, standard maintenance procedures and security policy requirements.Ensure compliance with applicable government regulations and Linde policies.Manage the security work order system, including reporting and record retention.Participate in audits and complete audit action plan elements.Conduct safety meetings and inspections – escalating any safety and environmental issues as needed.

Operations

Ensure plant operations by monitoring key indicators.Coordinate, manage and assist with technical, instrumentation, electrical, mechanical and process issues.Plan the required maintenance on the equipment.Manage the maintenance work order system to schedule routine work, ensure equipment inspections are completed, improve equipment reliability, and document activities.Maintain an adequate inventory of production supplies and critical parts.Manage and escalate, as required, equipment failures, production issues, product quality or delivery issues.Develop, manage and execute operating projects.Resolve workflow issues and conflicts by analyzing obstacles and organizing work in a way that maximizes the use of personnel, equipment, and material resources.Identify issues and direct improvement plans in production processes, work schedules, overtime levels, training, etc.Lead cost reduction and productivity initiatives.Communicate with customers, stakeholders, etc. if need be.Develop and maintain an efficient and trustworthy work environment.

Experience with instrumentation, controls, electrical and mechanical systemsExperience in financial management.Good computer, communication and team interaction skills.Excellent time management and work prioritization skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple high impact priorities.A proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with diverse stakeholder groups.In-depth knowledge of construction methods, systems and materials: keeps abreast of developments in industry technology, methods and practices through continuous learning.Working understanding of engineering drawings and tenders.Ability to understand and interpret contract documents, process and instrumentation drawings, and specifications. Familiarize themselves with subcontracts, including scopes of work, exclusions, clauses, and limitations.Strong analytical, problem-solving and critical thinking skills.Ability to effectively use email, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Project to effectively communicate information to the management team, contractors and customers.Ability to instill safety policies and implement procedures to ensure a safe workplace.Self-motivated, adaptable, and works well with teams.Excellent verbal and written professional skills in French and English.
