Standardized Patient - Podiatric Medicine

Grade\: A66 Hourly rate $23.20
Reporting to the Standardized Patient Program Director and with the guidance of the Chairperson of the Department of Podiatric Medicine in the School of Podiatric Medicine (TUSPM), the Standardized Patient/Patient Instructor simulates, in a consistent, disciplined, standardized manner, a patient in a medical situation and engages in diagnostic teaching sessions for the training purposes of students in the Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM) program by learning scripted clinical case studies and their teaching points, portraying a patient in the given case for simulated interviews and physical examinations with students, learning a series of basic diagnostic physical examination procedures, using the Standardized Patient/Patient Instructor’s own body as an anatomical training model for students to practice physical examination procedures, and objectively documenting student performance and behavior following select simulated interviews and physical examinations for the purpose of clinical faculty evaluation. 

Required Education & Experience\:
High School graduate or equivalent.  An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. 

Required Skills & Abilities\:
*This is a part-time position with no set schedule and no minimum work hours guaranteed.  
*Must be organized, detail oriented and possess demonstrable memorization and concentration skills.  
*Must be able to simulate a medical patient within designated parameters of case assignment and interact comfortably with health care professionals and students.  
*Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred\:
*Bachelor's Degree
*Acting experience or training 
*Previous experience as a standardized patient
