The Legal Department of JPMorgan Chase & Co. provides legal services and advice to the Firm globally. Legal is responsible for, among other things:
Advising on drafting and negotiating client, partner and customer-facing contracts Assisting with providing day-to-day legal advice and counsel to internal clients and partners in connection with the development, implementation and maintenance of data, analytics, AI or other related technology products and services Advising on new business initiatives Collaborating with business teams, as well as colleagues in Legal, Risk, Compliance and other control functions to address and resolve complex issues Interpreting existing laws, rules, and regulations and advising on changes thereto Advising on advocacy in connection with contemplated and proposed laws, rules, and regulations Legal selects, engages, and manages outside counsel for the Firm on all matters in which outside counsel is engagedWe're looking for an experienced attorney who will work independently and with outside counsel to represent the Firm in legal matters, as well as provide advice on a broad range of other matters and issues. The position involves independent contact with, and support of, senior management in the Firm.
As an Assistant Vice President, Senior Counsel, you will primarily assist with coverage of Aumni, Inc., a leading provider of investment analytics software to the venture capital industry, and a source of data and insights for and about the private capital markets. The attorney selected for this role will be the primary legal contact for the Aumni business on a day-to-day basis, responsible not only for negotiating agreements with Aumni's clients, partners and customers, but also for providing strategic advice on data governance and analytics, artificial intelligence and other emerging technologies leveraged by this business. This is a unique opportunity to act in a truly generalist legal role. The position will be supervised by the PB Legal Assistant General Counsel for High Growth Businesses.
A minimum of three to five years of post-admission legal practicing experience Legal degree. All candidates must be in compliance with all relevant licensing requirements including the requirements of the jurisdiction where the role will be located prior to commencement of employment Knowledge of data management and analytics is a plus, as is related corporate transactional or litigation experience with transferrable skills/knowledge Ability to assume significant independent responsibility immediately Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Outstanding organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex matters simultaneously Ability to think strategically Ability to write well and communicate effectively to both legal and non-legal professionals, including senior executives of the Firm Ability to build and maintain good client and colleague relationshipsAll candidates for roles in the Legal department must successfully complete a conflicts of interest clearance review prior to commencement of employment.
