BCCS is looking for applicants to join our team as a State Reporting Coordinator. Position Purpose Performs difficult administrative work managing databases and school reporting systems, preparing reports. Coordinator is responsible for accurate and timely reporting of all student and district data to the state of Minnesota ensuring proper funding. Serve as the liaison between the District and state representatives for clearing up data inconsistencies as well as related work apparent or assigned. Work is performed under the limited supervision of the Accountability Director.

Essential Job Functions
+ Coordinate, organize and facilitate data related projects in the district, ensuring accuracy and timely submissions.
+ Responsible for all student information state reporting including but not limited to Minnesota Automated Reporting Student System (MARSS) regular and interim submissions, Minnesota Common Course Catalogue (MCCC), Career and Technical Education (CTE), Graduation Record Requirement (GRR), Civil Rights Data Collection (CRDC), and Ed Fi Data Standard submissions.
+ Manage the preparation and submission of required Federal, State, and District reports related to student information.
+ Define MARSS Protocols and work with representatives of the state and other districts to resolve issues relating to student enrollment data.
+ Recommend hiring, assign work and determine work priorities, evaluate performance, direct and review the work of the student data specialist. Recommend discharge, if warranted.
+ Trains and provides instruction to the student data specialist and clerical staff on Ed Fi, MARSS, and student information systems..
+ Serve as the district primary point of contact and technical expert for end user support and training on MARSS and Ed Fi.
+ Ensure the implementation of internal and external procedures are in place to ensure all students data and state mandated coding is input in an accurate and timely manner.
+ Maintain contact with other MN school districts to ensure MARSS data is current and correct; submit error free data to the State to obtain accurate district reports.
+ Plan, communicate and train staff for the implementation for state reporting changes.
+ Monitor the quality of the district’s student records prior to submission to the state by auditing internal error reports; correct errors in the district system to ensure accurate reporting; identify problems and how they might be fixed now and in the future; determine priorities on which errors must be corrected first to ensure the district receives maximum funding.
+ Maintain current knowledge of state laws, rules and procedures related to reporting of student information and provide training and support to other district staff on these subjects.
+ Maintain census and student contact information and is responsible for notification of change communications
+ Send and receive student electronic information to the state of Minnesota using the state and federal government guidelines.
+ Collaborate with the Enrollment Coordinator to ensure Open Enrollment forms are distributed and maintained.
+ Coordinate with the EL Coordinator to ensure EL students are accurately classified and reclassified
+ Attend monthly meetings to stay current with all state report requirements and student information system updates.
+ Performs state ID validations in the Early Learning Scholarship Award (ELSA) system for early learning resident students served in a non-district program

+ Detailed knowledge of school system routine, and financial record keeping;

+ Ability to type accurately and at a reasonable rate of speed;

+ Ability to work with a diverse workforce in a professional and collaborative manner to achieve common goals;
+ Working knowledge of education information systems;
+ Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Qualifications ProfileAny combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be qualifying. Typical qualifications would be equivalent to:
+ High School diploma or equivalent.
+ Prior successful clerical experience preferred.
