State Street Global Advisors (SSGA) is the fourth largest asset management firm globally. Global Funds Management is responsible for all treasury, fund administration, and reporting for our registered and unregistered funds globally. This includes valuation, board liaison and reporting, financial and regulatory reporting, taxation, expense accruals, service provider oversight, new product implementations and change management. This is a senior level management role within State Street Global Advisor’s Global Funds Management unit. This role requires senior level executive interaction within State Street Global Advisors and State Street Corporation, as well as with Fund Boards of Directors, Auditors and other vendors. As such, exceptional interpersonal and communication skills are required. Candidates must demonstrate the ability to set clear goals and objectives and inspire teams to work towards a shared vision, be able to perform well under pressure, and model a continuous change mindset.
What you will be responsible for:
Comprehensive service delivery for Global Fund Management’s financial, regulatory, and board reporting and fund registration capabilitiesDevelop and implement a global approach to the formulation, oversight, governance, and maintenance of Accounting, Reporting, Fund Registration policies and proceduresDrive continuous improvement through the use of technology and by collaborating with cross-functional teams; provide expertise in best practices that is extensible to other functions across Global Funds Management, and the enterprise. Develop and employ operating and production models and rhythm that support global scale alongside regional-specific needs, nuances, and regulation and supports financially sound business practicesProven familiarity with continuous improvement approaches (e.g., business process design, documentation, management, and optimization); organization design; and use of technology and digitization mediums including automation and workflow tools is essentialContribute to the GFM strategy and its delivery as a member of the executive teamProviding requisite services and leadership for applicable Fund Boards and regulatorsParticipate in fund lifecycle process including review of proposals, structure and, staffing allocations, etc.Building a high performing team of leaders capable of delivering on the needs of the future. Attract, develop, and organize talent in support of SSGA’s client focus.Leading external business partners to continuously enhance and improve the operating model for responsible functionsWorking with local business leaders to understand emerging regulatory, business and product needs – translating their needs to development and delivery of solutions Regularly reviews internal, regional partners experience with department’s performance and products. Education & Preferred Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role will be a seasoned investment operations professional possessing 15+ years of progressive accounting and/or financial service operations experience. He/she must be a highly skilled communicator with demonstrated ability to effectively engage stakeholders across all levels of sophistication, as well as have proven experience leading and motivating a geographically-dispersed team. Specific requirements include:Substantial exposure and experience in a senior level role, preferably in the asset management / servicing industry and multinational firmProven experience supporting development of a vision through execution and day to day leadership of a dynamic, client-focused organizationExperience creating and executing effective change management, leading others through transformational changeBroad and deep understanding of technology (e.g., industry platforms, data tools, portals, workflow, automation), digital savvy, and experienced in surfacing technological/digital solutions to solve business issuesProven experience leading, developing, and motivating professional level staffKnowledge of business risk, sound working knowledge of robust operating procedures and controlBroad understanding of investment operations, thorough knowledge of institutional and retail businesses with asset management product lines, regulatory issues, systems, and support procedures and controlsCandidates must have a college degree (accounting degree strongly preferred; business, mathematics, finance or economics degree required) Candidates must possess solid business unit management experience on complex fund structures.
