St John's Regional Medical Center is seeking a skilled and experienced Stationary Engineer to join our Facilities Management team. The Stationary Engineer is responsible for the operation and maintenance of critical utility systems that are essential for the smooth functioning of our hospital. Responsibilities
Operate and maintain boilers, chillers, HVAC systems, and other utility equipment to ensure reliable performance.Monitor and adjust control systems to maintain optimal environmental conditions within the hospital.Conduct routine inspections and preventive maintenance on mechanical systems.Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform repairs as needed.Respond promptly to emergency situations, such as power outages or equipment failures.Maintain accurate records of equipment maintenance and repairs.Collaborate with other members of the Facilities Management team to coordinate maintenance activities.Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and environmental standards.Participate in on-call rotations to address urgent maintenance issues.
Qualifications
High school education or equivalent Minimum of 1 year generalized knowledge in facility repair and maintenance operationsCCR Title 8 Training on facility specific Central Plant equipment and systems Passing Competency Assessment by Supervisor within 90 days of hireHospital experience preferredBoiler Operator experience preferredMust possess a valid California Drivers License and be approved by Dignity Health as an authorized driver of hospital vehicles.
Special Skills:
Ability to analyze complex tasks systems problems designs and be able to implement the most effective working solution. Ability to work cohesively with other team members and yet able to work alone with little to no supervision. Must possess a good working knowledge of the mechanical plumbing and electrical aspects of the Central Plant and building systems. Must be familiar with control equipment and distribution systems. Must be familiar with California Administration Code Title 8 General Industry Safety Orders Boiler and Pressure Vessel Safety Orders and Compressed Air Safety Orders.This position is represented by SEIU - UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
