Department Summary: The Division of Genetic Medicine is a robust and dynamic division, closely tied to the Vanderbilt Genetics Institute, that leads the nation in revealing the complex interactions between our genome and human health. The division innovates across its research and clinical missions to integrate genome variation with genome function to better define biological mechanisms of human disease. The Division of Genetic Medicine provides an academic environment enabling researchers to explore new relationships between disease susceptibility and human genetics. The division was established to host both research and clinical research programs focused on the genetic basis of health and disease. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES • Collaborates as a member of a research team on the design of a research project. • Assists the research team in the design of methods to collect information. • Participates in the development of operations and procedures for the collection, editing, verification and management of data. • Collaborates as a member of a research team on the implementation and analysis of a research project. • Implements analysis, including data verification and data correction using appropriate hardware and software for the management and analysis of data. • Manipulates standard data formats to create input and output formats for software. • Assists in the publication of research projects. • Participates in the preparation of reports and presentations summarizing data analysis results using appropriate methods and techniques. **Our Academic Enterprise** is one of the nation’s longest serving and most prestigious academic medical centers.
