Steakhouse Chef - Nugget Pahrump Nugget, Gold Town & Lakeside (Pahrump, NV)
Description:
Summary:
Responsible for the day to day operation and direct supervision of all activities within the Stockman Steakhouse kitchen department. Ensure daily operations and experiences meet guest expectations. Appropriately respond to and manage any escalated departmental concerns and guest and/or team member challenges.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
+ Hire, train, develop, measure performance, discipline, and schedule department staff
+ Lead the tactical execution of strategic initiatives under the direction of division leadership
+ Establish standards of service within assigned department(s) and ensure achievement
+ Monitor and control labor within the department while maintaining adequate coverage in the department based on business demands
+ Ensure compliance with all applicable gaming laws and company internal controls, policies and procedures, Title 31, and federal regulations, as they apply to the position
+ Maintain a working knowledge of county and state standards for food service sanitation and strictly abide by these regulations
+ Supervise the entire food preparation staff ensuring that all safety procedures, methods of preparation, and cooking and holding processes meet standards
+ Ensures portion sizes, garnishes, menus, banquets, parties, and other special events are economical and technically correct
+ Requisitions food and equipment from vendors making sure quantity and quality are correct
+ Provide outstanding guest service in a timely manner to both guests and fellow team members that meets the company’s guest service culture standards
+ Perform other duties as assigned
Requirements:
Qualifications
+ 3 Years’ experience as a chef at a full-service high-volume restraint or hotel and previous supervisory experience
+ Proven track record working within a team or group environment and the ability to work in a professional and courteous manner
+ Proven experience providing high level of guest service
+ Must be able to operate, clean, and maintain all equipment required in job function and possess a working knowledge of general computer programs, including the MSWord and Excel
+ Able to accurately perform intermediate math
+ Must be at least 21 years of age
+ High school diploma or equivalent required culinary training preferred
+ Able to functionally communicate occupational-based English, both written and verbal
+ Obtain and maintain all work cards as required by the company
+ Verify right to work in the United States

+ Frequently lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects weighing up to 75 pounds
+ Use tools or equipment requiring a high degree of dexterity

+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
