This individual will assist in the operation of an independent public STEM School located in Kettering, Ohio. Major roles and responsibilities will include monitoring student behavior and building/protecting culture, handling preliminary discipline referrals, serving as testing coordinator, investigating absence and tardy issues and helping to ensure compliance with state and federal mandates..

Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree 5 years experience in a K-12 educational environment Educator license Ability to work independently and make effective decisions High energy and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Good communication skills Preferred Qualifications Past experience working as a testing coordinator Administration experience Experience with Project Based Learning Administrator License Essential Functions and percent of time: 45% – Handling school discipline Maintain documentation relative to discipline issues. Foster environment conducive to learning. Collaborate with the Principal, Counselors, Superintendent/CAO, and external agencies to support and address student attendance, discipline and behavior concerns. Contact parents about student issues. Maintain and periodically reviews student discipline records. Work with administrative staff to maintain school discipline plan. Ensure safe drop-off and pick-up of students at DRSS. Assist with monitoring lunchroom behavior and environment.


25% – Testing coordination/Data Analysis Coordinate testing processes and logistics at DRSS. Serve as building testing coordinator. Analyze test data to look for trends and recommends plans for improvement.
15% – Investigating attendance issues Maintain and review student attendance records.
15% – Supports school climate and culture initiatives Coordinate with counselors and principals to implement the attribute award system. Communicate effectively with educational community, parents, and supplemental agencies, as necessary. Meet professional responsibilities. Participate in Professional Development activities as required by position. Follow rules, policies and procedures as specified. Maintain confidentiality. Accept other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Superintendent. Keep administrative staff informed of all activities. Special contract terms and conditions of employment apply.

This position is State Teachers Retirement System (STRS) eligible.
