Posting Details Job Title STEPS Fostering Success Job Coach Requisition Number TE08641 Department Name 8T110:College of Social Work Work Location Lexington, KY Salary Range $20 - $25/hr Type of Position Temporary Position Time Status Part-Time Required Education Required Related Experience Required License/Registration/Certification Physical Requirements lifting/pushing/pulling objects up to 25lbs; repetitive motion typical of desk work (typing, sitting, bending, twisting, prolonged screen exposure) Shift approximately 20 hours per week; flexible schedule—mostly Monday – Friday (8:00am – 5:00pm) with some evenings and weekends as needed Job Summary The STEPS Fostering Success Job Coach (hereafter referred to as ‘Job Coach’) will work directly with young people participating in the Fostering Success Summer Employment Program and Earn and Learn Programs. Job Coaches will be required to attend an orientation to the program.
Specific duties include: Develop effective job coaching and employment plans Communicate with participants to understand their goals and ambitions Assist participants in developing strategies to overcome employment related personal and professional barriers Assess participants’ strengths/areas for growth Guide clients in learning to complete employment related tasks Provide coaching in effective job search techniques Monitor and evaluate progress of program participants Keep records and documentation related to participant contacts
Candidates asked to submit resume. Coordinate and provide holistic support to program participants who are attending college Guide and support program participants in the areas of academics, mental health, social well-being, basic needs, and financial aid. Skills / Knowledge / Abilities Excellent Written and Oral Communication Skills; Interpersonal Skills; Team Oriented; Strong Problem Solving Skills; Previous professional experience working with young people, age 18-22, preferred. Some travel may be required. Does this position have supervisory responsibilities?
