As a Sterile Process Instrument Specialist at MercyOne, you will decontaminate and reprocess instruments and equipment utilized throughout the hospital. Maintains principles of asepsis and infection control. Delivers supplies and equipment to patient care areas and returns them for reprocessing and/or disposal.
Demonstrates knowledge and skill in sterile technique, decontamination and sterilization, and instrumentation sets.Maintains principles of asepsis and infection control.Delivers supplies and equipment to departmental patient care areas and returns them for reprocessing and/or disposal.Processes charges to departments for supplies used as well as credits returned items.Demonstrates the proper care, decontamination and sterilization, packaging of specific surgical instruments and patient care equipment.Maintains knowledge of equipment and continuously learns new technology and is able to trouble shoot equipment, report malfunctioning equipment and ensure its repair and return to service.Schedule:
Flex hours: M-F. 0630-1830.Rotating callRotating HolidaysRotating Weekends.General Requirements:
Completion of a Certified Registered Central Service Technician program within two years of hire with certification (CRCST) required. May be a graduate of a Surgical Technologist program with certification to meet requirement.One year experience as either a central processing technician or surgical technologist preferred.On-call required.Must demonstrate organizational and communications skills and be able to identify patient care products and their use.Must be comfortable operating in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.Must possess a personal presence that is characterized by a sense of honesty, integrity, and caring with the ability to inspire and motivate others to promote the philosophy, mission and vision, goals, and values of Trinity Health.Education:
