Summary

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the allocation and completion of assigned functions for the Sterile Processing Techs daily function in the Sterile Processing Department and in the distribution area. Performs SPD tech duties as required to meet staffing needs; and provides hands-on-training for employees. Responsible for the safe and efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, and sterilization of all reprocessed instruments and equipment. Participates as a team member of the unit by readily accepting flexible scheduling and changes in daily routine, and by performing additional duties as required.

REQUIREMENTS: Formal working knowledge; equivalent to an Associate's degree (2 years college); requires knowledge of a specialized field. Must have previous supervisory experience. 1-3 years of experience. Sterling Processing Certification within 6 months of hire.
