PETERS (50/50 between the two at times) + CRCST or CBSPD Required **Overview** Opened in 2007, **Progress West Hospital** is BJC HealthCare’s newest hospital in St. Charles County, featuring modern private rooms. It offers 24-hour emergency services and has partnered with St. Louis Children’s Hospital to provide world-class pediatric emergency care. Progress West Hospital also provides surgical services, endoscopy services, a cardiac catheterization lab, medical/surgical inpatient services, diagnostic imaging, lab services, and the Advanced Wound Center, a specialty wound treatment facility with state-of-the-art equipment. Progress West Hospital recently completed an expansion of its Childbirth Center to include enhanced services for at-risk mothers and babies, with a newborn ICU that provides care for babies born as early as 32 weeks. Progress West Hospital is a Certified Level II Stroke Center. The hospital’s medical office building houses offices for specialists in primary care, cardiology, obstetrics, pediatrics, and orthopedics. **Preferred Qualifications** **Role Purpose** Directs and supports sterile processing staff to provide quality, efficient, cost-effective decontamination, sterilization and distribution services with proper management of service utilization and inventory levels. **Responsibilities** + Manages individual(s) including but not limited to: hires, trains, assigns work, manages & evaluates performance, conducts professional development plans. Ensures that the productivity and actions of that group meet/support the overall operational goals of the department as established by department leadership. + Collaborates with other departments to ensure the appropriate professional standards are consistently applied. + Provides decontamination and sterilization evaluation planning, operations and maintenance consultation to management at BJC organizations. + Assists or manages the operations of unit services and integration with other departments. + Provides input and may create effective work plans that include identifying the correct resources, processes and space needed for the work unit. + Monitors surgery schedule of cases to assure proper instruments are available. + May participate in the development of departmental staffing, revenue and/or expense budgets and having direct responsibility for adhering to those goals.
