Sterile Processing Supervisor - Cape May Court House Surgery Center - Full Time
Minimum Qualifications:
* High School Diploma required.
* Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST or CSPDT) as required by the NJDOH.
* Certified in Healthcare Leadership or (CHL or CSPDM) within 2 years of hire or transfer.
* Microsoft office computer skills required.
* Applicable Specialty Experience required specific to AtlantiCare Surgical Center assignment.   POSITION SUMMARY
The ASC Sterilization Services Supervisor is responsible for daily operations of the Sterile Processing departments of the designated Surgery Center. This position supervises the resources for cost containment and for proper function of the department ensuring compliance with established procedures, AAAHC requirements, and ANSI/AAMI and Department of Health regulations.   This position ensures the safe and efficient operation of all departmental equipment and prompt delivery of sterilized surgical instrumentation to the appropriate areas. The Supervisor is responsible for coordinating the in servicing, orientation, and training of new employees in coordination with the Director of Sterilization and HLD Services or designee. The Supervisor is responsible for the completion of employee performance reviews, in coordination with the Director of Sterilization and HLD Services. The Supervisor conducts CQI activities on a monthly basis and utilizes PDCA principles for improvement. The Supervisor is responsible for maintaining an accurate Kronos data base of employee time and attendance. The SPD Supervisor works with the ASC Materials Business Manager in the purchase of new or replaced surgical instruments and SPD equipment and supply. The Supervisor coordinates daily OR /SPD surgical schedules reviews and coordinates with team members.   The Supervisor makes recommendations to the Director of Sterilization & HLD Services to determine required process review and identify areas of improvement. This positon is responsible to make recommendations to the Director of Sterilization and HLD Services for short term and long term planning of the Sterile Processing department. The ASC Sterilization Services Supervisor work collaboratively with ASC management team and reports all issues/findings to Director of Sterilization and HLD Services, as well as the ASC Administrator or Director of Nursing. The ASC Sterilization Services Supervisor works collaboratively with the AtlantiCare System Sterile Processing Management team, to ensure standards of practice are consistent across the health system.   This position supports organizational goals by providing quality customer service, participating in performance improvement efforts and demonstrating a commitment to team work and cooperation. Intercampus travel required to each ASC location, as necessary and designated. Other administrative duties as assigned.   QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION: High School Diploma required. Associates degree in related field preferred.
LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST or CSPDT) as required by the NJDOH. Certified in Healthcare Leadership or (CHL or CSPDM) within 2 years of hire or transfer.   EXPERIENCE: Minimum 5 years experience in SPD/Sterilization and Inventory preferred. Minimum 3 years of SPD Supervisory experience preferred. Microsoft office computer skills required. Applicable Specialty Experience required specific to AtlantiCare Surgical Center assignment.   PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS
Demonstrates the ability to perform the department specific competencies as listed on the Assessment and Evaluation Tool, Sterile Processing Supervisor.   WORK ENVIRONMENT
Potential for exposure to the hazards and risk of the hospital environment, including exposure to infectious disease, blood-borne pathogens, hazardous substances, and potential injury.
This position requires extensive walking, standing and lifting. The ability to push and or pull 20 pounds with good body mechanics is also required.

This position reports to department leadership and supervises incumbents as assigned.
