Description
Incumbent will perform duties as a Surgical Processing Technician to include: decontamination and/or processing of equipment and instrumentation, and distribution of supplies or equipment, as assigned within UCLA Healthcare. Cross training will be provided. Other major duties include, but are not limited to, customer service and departmental efficiencies. Strictly obeys the healthcare regulations for infection control. Properly utilizes and provides resource information regarding proper sterilization techniques, product information, equipment operation. Actively participates in Quality Management. Consistently adheres to UCLA Perioperative Services policies and procedures. Attends all in-services/workshops as requested. Participates in required classes. Always ensures a safe working environment for self and co-workers. Monitors and reports unsafe acts or conditions and takes appropriate proactive steps to resolve and/or report. Consistently maintains good guest relations interdepartmentally, interdepartmentally. Maintains a positive attitude and behavior. Efficient and productive with time utilization. Adapts to change in workload. Always rotates supplies. Always inspects for package integrity and appropriate change of chemical indicators. Prioritizes appropriately. Able to work independently. Able to take call.
Qualifications
Minimum one year of experience
On call weekday and weekends
Holiday coverage is required as assigned
