Atlantic Health System is seeking a Full-Time Sterile Processing Technician for the Central Sterile Supply at Morristown Medical Center.  Required hours are: 8:00am – 4:00pm, Monday - Friday including alternating weekends; No on-call.

Essential Functions:

Operates all required equipment and machinery accurately and safely, prepares, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and supplies according to parameters of sterilization. Accurately handles and cares for instruments appropriately, including appropriate selection of cleaning agents and lubricants. Correctly peel-packs supplies/instruments, wraps instruments for sterilization, inspect each instrument for use, function, completeness and cleanliness. Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all FSC policies, procedures and standards and quality of service. Cleans, sets up, sterilizes and distributes instruments as scheduled on each shift. Handles and disposes of infectious waste appropriately. Adheres to Standard Precautions as appropriate, which may include: the use of protective barriers, as appropriate (e.g., gloves, masks, gowns, pocket masks, and/or safety glasses). Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements: 

High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. To provide a safe environment to our patients, we require that all candidates must be able to read, write and speak English. Completion of a Sterile Processing/Surgical Technologist program required. Certified Central Service Technician required. Certified Endoscope Repressor (CER) required.

Relevant Experience: 

Minimum three (3) years of related experience preferred. Minimum two (2) years' experience as a sterile processing technician preferred.  Minimum two (2) years of related experience in endoscope reprocessing.
