**Sterile Processing Technician**
**Responsibilities**
+ Follow professional and departmental policies and procedures for decontamination and processing of equipment and instrumentation.
+ Assemble procedure carts and trays for patient care.
+ Deliver and retrieve patient care equipment and supplies throughout the hospital.
+ Appropriately store supplies and equipment for quick retrieval when needed.
+ Participate in patient safety and performance improvement within the department.
+ Attend and participate in meetings and committees, as assigned.
+ Teach and mentor other staff, as appropriate.
+ Perform other duties that are consistent with meeting departmental and organizational goals and objectives.
**Essential Skills**
+ Experience in sterile processing, assembly, surgical instrumentation, cleanroom, plastic, decontamination, and packaging.
+ 1 year of experience in a similar role.
+ HSPA (Formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD certification within 1 year of employment is recommended.
+ Ability to model the hospital's internal and external service standards of listen, be nice, be helpful, and show regard.
**Additional Skills & Qualifications**
+ Recommended to have HSPA (Formerly IAHCSMM) or CBSPD certification beforehand.
+ Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
+ Ability to teach and mentor other staff.

**Job Type & Location**
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Upland, California.
**Pay and Benefits**
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $33.00/hr.
