Develops, establishes, and maintains quality engineering methodologies, systems, and practices that meet BSC, customer, and regulatory requirements. As a Quality representative to improve awareness, visibility, and communication on quality initiatives to support departmental, functional, site, divisional, and corporate quality goals and priorities. Provides focused quality engineering support within the sterilization industry.

 

To develop competence in strategic and/or operational work while performing in a professional work situation with emphasis placed upon training and development, and to expand professional preparation experiences far beyond the potential inherent in classroom and laboratory activities. Each internship is unique, based on matching the educational and career objectives of the student to the activities of a particular functional area and its specific needs. The internship will, in most cases, focus on a major project for the entire period. Student Interns are expected to learn from the experience as well as contribute to BSC's goals.


Your responsibilities will include:

Engaging in specific functional area tasks or projects, which may involve research, data analysis, teamwork, presentation development, strategy design to support changes and improvements to sterilization and supporting processes. Acting as a regular full-time staff member by adhering to BSC’s rules and regulations, maintaining professional and personable conduct with staff and customers, and complying with Boston Scientific’s confidentiality and professional policies. Gaining a thorough understanding of their responsibilities, business and operational issues, BSC’s management, and relevant company-specific matters. Assisting in the creation and production of proposals and reports using word processing, spreadsheets, and other software tools. Preparing and presenting an oral and written evaluation to Management upon completing the internship.


Your Impact:

As a Quality Engineering intern: 

Maintain compliance with applicable regulations and internal BSC requirements further ensuring patient safety. Candidate projects are prioritized to reflect savings and value to the site which may include time savings, cost avoidance, and nonconformance mitigation.

Examples of meaning work:

Analysis and improvements to nonconformance data to reduce occurrence or mitigate risks of failure. Standardization of sterile review steps and work instructions to streamline review processes and prevent human error.


Required Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or Chemical Engineering with a graduation date of Fall 2025-Spring 2026. Industrial Engineering graduates also considered. Internships are not intended for graduating seniors. Must be able to commit to program dates May 19- August 8th, 2025 Experience in data analysis using Minitab, Power BI, or similar software Must be eligible to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization (F-1 students with practical training and candidates requiring H-1Bs, TNs, etc. will not be considered)


Preferred Qualifications:

Desire to work in fast-paced Cross-Functional Teams to maintain and support quality-engineering methodologies, systems, and practices that meet BSC, customer, and regulatory requirements. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills Understanding of Lean principles or Six Sigma, Lean Green Belt certified

The anticipated annualized base amount or range for this full time position will be $58,240.00 to $64,480.00, plus variable compensation governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives) as well as the value of core and optional benefits offered at BSC, which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs.
