Sterilization Technician
Job Title: Sterilization TechnicianJob Description The Sterilization Technician is responsible for sterilizing and delivering reusable dental instruments. This role involves sterilizing and monitoring equipment within the department, maintaining an organized and clean work area, and processing sterilized items for both departments and students. Additional duties may be assigned as needed. Responsibilities + Sterilize and deliver reusable dental instruments. + Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment. + Ensure the work area is organized and clean. + Process sterilized items for various departments and students. + Perform other duties as needed. Essential Skills + Sterile processing + Aseptic technique + Sterilization + Knowledge of surgical instrumentation Additional Skills & Qualifications + High School diploma or GED required. + Six months of experience working in a dental or medical area preferred. + Knowledge of dental instruments and their maintenance preferred. Work Environment The work environment is within a School of Dentistry office that has approximately 127 chairs and 9 specialties. The department processes over 1000 instrument cassettes per day in a fast-paced environment. The schedule is Monday to Thursday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with some days starting at 7:00 AM and ending at 4:30 PM. Fridays, the office closes at 2:00 PM. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
