JOB OVERVIEW: 

Are you excited about delivering the best experiences to our guests?  This position may be a perfect fit for you!  Daily duties include but are not limited to setting up or breaking down of supplies and materials along with stocking staple goods, chemical stocking, and general cleaning.  This position is responsible for the cleanliness of cutlery, utensils, and glassware items.  This position is also responsible for the disposal of food and beverage refuse.  Motivate & inspire daily.  Responsible for creating a collaborative, positive environment.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Ensure the cleanliness, organization, and sanitization of the kitchen area, back of house area, storage areas, along with the carts and tables through constant monitoring and vigorous cleaning schedules. Clean and sanitize all china, glass, silver, cutlery, and other dishware using the dishwashing machine, load and unload dishware flatware from dishwashing machine and store properly. Clean and sanitize all pots, pans, and kitchen utensils using the correct cleaning and rinsing solutions. Help and create overall compliance with state and local Food Safety and Food Establishment health regulations. Safely set-up, clean, utilize machinery to clean, polish, sort, and transport dishware; place damaged or excessively worn pieces in a designated area for repair or to be discarded. Clean and sanitize all ovens, mixers, kettles, and other kitchen equipment as well as kitchen drains, sinks, floors, and walls; dust, clean, sweep, mop all food production areas and hallways. Safely utilize and store all cleaning compounds, chemicals, and materials including soaking solution utilizing the correct protective clothing and Personal Protective Equipment. Perform any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor to maintain a smoothly run kitchen. Travel between Shangri-La properties may be requested.

 SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

 Extensive knowledge of Food and Beverage etiquette, guest relations and service standards. Strong interpersonal skills to assess client needs and provide overall guest satisfaction.  Effectively deal with internal and external guests, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact, and diplomacy.  Presents a professional appearance and manner.  Self-starting personality with an even disposition.  Can communicate well with guests.  Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player.  Thorough knowledge of food and beverage products, proper preparation and presentation of food and beverage items.

 Safety & Security: The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to Crescent. Every Crescent associate should adhere to the hotel security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
