The resort was named the “Jewel of the Desert” since its opening on February 23, 1929. This gorgeous 39-acre property reopened in May 2021 after undergoing a $150 million restoration and has over 700 rooms, over 200,000 square feet in banquet space, and 8 food and beverage outlets (including 2 restaurants, 2 bars, 2 poolside bars, a gelato shop/café, and in-room dining). Hotel Website, Instagram, Facebook Overview As a Stewarding Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising and directing stewards and dishwashers to transport and clean cooking utensils and serviceware in order to provide cooks, buspersons and servers with appropriate equipment for the guest dining experience. You will also ensure cleaning of physical surroundings. Specifically, this includes, but is not limited to, the following duties: Supervise, direct, and ensure the scheduling of stewarding staff, including temporary personnel, ensuring that all assigned team members report to work. Review and understand event details from the Banquet Event Order (BEO), including guest count, menu, location, timeline and special requests, and attend BEO meetings as needed. Coordinate and ensure proper setup and breakdown for all banquet functions, including timely delivery of food and equipment to the designated areas. Accommodate and follow up on requests for additional wares or equipment, ensuring quick and courteous service for all banquet and kitchen functions. Monitor supply levels and conduct inventories of chemicals, cleaning supplies, dinnerware, flatware and glassware as needed and submit to management. Inspect and maintain cleanliness and organization of all storage and back-of-house areas, assigning personnel to rectify any deficiencies promptly. Ensure compliance with State Health regulations, pest control requirements, and hotel sanitation standards across all stewarding operations and work areas. Oversee the collection and timely return of dirty china, glassware, and silverware to the dishwashing area, ensuring cleanliness and organization throughout the workday. Assist the Assistant Executive Steward in maintaining cleanliness and functionality of both front and back-of-house areas, coordinating deep cleaning tasks and equipment maintenance. Identify and resolve any situations that compromise departmental standards, delegating solutions effectively to maintain service quality. Ensure proper setup and readiness of all functions for the following shift, coordinating with incoming teams to guarantee a smooth transition. Complete mandatory health and safety training as required by the company or regulatory entities. Perform other job-related duties as required by management. This is a full-time position, and you must be available to work days, nights, weekends and holidays. Qualifications At least one (1) year of previous work experience Previous stewarding experience, preferred Experience in a luxury hotel, preferred Prior leadership experience, preferred Bilingual in Spanish, preffered ServSafe Food Handler Certification, preferred
