Summary:
Reports to the Executive Chef and is under the direction of the Manager Personal Choice Dining. Within hospital and departmental policies and procedures receives nutrition foodstuffs and processes them according to standards. Performs other related duties as required.
Responsibilities:
Receives lifts moves stores issues counts sorts weighs and verifies items on requisitions or invoices for Nutrition Services department.
Dates all inventory items upon delivery. Returns damaged items or items that do not meet Sodexho specifications to vendors.
Communicates with units being served primarily by phone and fax; carries department-issued cell phone for business use only.
Assembles product for distribution and issues product to requesting areas to internal and out-patient departments and customers. Rotates stock (First In/First Out) to insure freshness. Records items and quantities distributed to each unit. Where applicable monitors proper refrigerator and freezer temperatures per Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) standards.
Maintains cleanliness and orderliness of storage areas by sweeping and mopping.
Provides security for all stock in the storeroom and/or refrigerator/freezer.
Follows all safety requirements of Sodexho the facility and local state and federal jurisdictions.
May move or transport materials or supplies to other departments using hand or industrial trucks.
Performs other tasks as required.
Other information:
BASIC KNOWLEDGE:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Computer and basic math skills
EXPERIENCE:
Up to one month on-the-job training and experience to become familiar with job routine.
Acute healthcare Hospital environment.
Any potential hazard is minimized or nullified by adherence to established safety procedures and the use of protective clothing and equipment.
Working conditions are generally good exposed to normal patient care environment when visiting patients and meeting with other healthcare personnel.
Sits stands and walks throughout the day.
