Job Summary
Under minimum supervision use skills obtained through experience and training to perform all functions in the Securities Lending Operations group. Ensures the delivery and receipt of equity and/or or debt securities utilizing the DTCC or Fed Reserve settlement systems. Responsible for guaranteeing the accuracy of the multiple reports used to make deliveries and process the settled trades. Participate in balancing the daily settlement. The person in this role will have interaction with various departments or contra firms and will ensure accurate record keeping.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Assist the Securities Lending sales desk when needed.
• Process Returns and analyze certain Loanet reports and make proper notations
• Perform the daily settlement process to include end-of-day Loanet to DTC balancing
• Perform all aspects of transaction maintenance to include mark-to-market, contract compare and recall processing/buy-in
• Processes re-org and dividend adjustments
• Perform monthly billing reconciliation and settlement with counterparties as well as short and fully-paid lending clients.
• Create and review internal reports and make necessary adjustments
• Resolve monetary or stock record out of balance situations.
• Review, researches, and resolves trade problems.
• Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
• Ensure appropriate work environment for full-time remote operation.

• Investment concepts, practices, and procedures used in the securities industry to include the trade cycle of execution, clearance and settlement.

• Trade processing, trade comparisons, security setup, options transactions and products.
• General office practices, procedures and methods.
• General accounting procedures.
Skill in
• Mathematical/bookkeeping including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, fractions, averages and balancing sufficient to complete settlement.
• Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook and Access) at an intermediate to high level.
• Organizational and time management sufficient to prioritize workload, handle multiple tasks, and meet deadlines.
Ability to
• Work well under pressure due to stringent timeframes and high trade volume.
• Adjust to fluctuations in work volume and changes to assignment priorities.
• Maintain accuracy when running entries or delivering shares through the various depositories.
• Communicate information orally and written in a clear and effective manner sufficient to interact with internal associates and external contacts at all levels.
• Research and resolve problems in a timely manner.
Educational/Previous Experience Requirements
Education/Previous Experience
• Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Three (3) or more years’ experience in Securities Lending operations.
• OR ~
• Any equivalent combination of education, experience and/or training approved by Human Resources.
Licenses/Certifications
• SIE required provided that an exemption or grandfathering cannot be applied.
• Series 99, or ability to obtain within 120 days (as required by FINRA), required (Persons holding Series 6, 7, 17, 37 or 38 or those who hold principal-level registrations: Series 4, 9/10, 14, 16, 23, 24, 26, 27, 28, 51, and 53 would be qualified to register as an Operations Professional (Series 99) without passing the examination.)
