We are seeking a skilled Storage/Backup Engineer SME to join our team. As the Backup Engineer SME, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and leadership in the design, implementation, and maintenance of our storage and backup infrastructure. You will work closely with other IT professionals to ensure optimal system performance, availability, and reliability. The ideal candidate must be able to perform duties associated with management of overall Storage and Backup operations in direct coordination with the Operations Manager and Government Leadership.

Responsibilities Design, deploy, configure and maintain storage and backup solutions across multiple platforms, including SAN, NAS, and cloud-based storage services. Develop, implement and maintain data retention policies and procedures. Monitor and optimize storage and backup performance, ensuring data availability and integrity. Troubleshoot storage and backup issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure data protection and compliance with regulatory requirements. Participate in capacity planning and scalability assessments to ensure storage and backup solutions meet business needs. Implement and maintain disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for storage and backup systems. Stay up-to-date with the latest storage and backup technologies, best practices, and industry trends. Qualifications Active DoD Top Secret Clearance.Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. 7+ years of experience in storage and backup engineering, with demonstrated expertise in SAN and NAS technologies. Experience with cloud-based storage solutions (AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.) and backup and recovery tools. Proficiency in one or more scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash, etc.) and automation tools (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, etc.).Experience in implementing solution designs and operating environments that are compliant with all Federal and DoD guidance and policies.Experience implementing software and hardware solutions.Experience in data replication, failover testing, backup and restore capabilities and plant infrastructureExperience in establishing information systems requirements using analysis of the system engineers to develop enterprise wide information systems design in an environment similar in size and scopeExperience in estimating and sizing implementation efforts (i.e., cost, performance, capacity, manageability, scalability, etc) for storage and backup systems.  Posted Min Pay Rate USD $95,577.60/Yr. Posted Max Pay Rate USD $159,296.00/Yr. Salary Disclosure Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.

The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance.
