Job Functions
Design and management of the retail communications program and supporting processes, solicit and incorporate feedback from business partners and the stores organization in development of communication solutions.Maintain Workload Planning Calendar and Project List for major tasks impacting stores and be the first line gatekeeper for all store communication requests.Represents store organization and advises business partners on retail store communications messaging and tactics to conform with company guidelines and align content with business objectives and workload initiatives, influencing upstream as needed to meet communication objectives, timelines and store needs.Support and manage the delivery of weekly communication cascades.Keep store communications policies and procedures accurate and up to date. Train all Belk associates (corporate and store) on communication channels and best practicesWrite, proof-read and/or edit all retail store communications and deliver using appropriate communication method based on the message, audience, timing and desired outcome.Manage content and communications postings on Store Resources and Core Reports (SharePoint intranet site)Special projects and other duties as assignedAll employees are expected to be in compliance with government and corporate laws, rules, regulations, policies, and proceduresEducation / Experience Requirements:

Minimum Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of experience
• 2 or more years of applicable experience
• Specific work or project experience: Industry experience: Retail, Internal Communications
• Experience in client relationships and managing stakeholder expectations
• Experience working in a corporate Communications function
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent years of experience
• Bachelor’s degree major in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism
• Specific Degree: Business, Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Psychology, Organizational Change, or other Behavior related degree
• 4 or more years of applicable experience
• Specific work or project experience: Experience implementing a task management application in a retail organization
• experience managing a SharePoint intranet site
• Industry experience: Retail, Internal Communications
Knowledge / Skills Requirements:
EX: Proficient in Excel and Access; able to type "X" words a minute; understanding of retail store operations
Knowledge & Skills
• Strong interpersonal skills; ability to build relationships and influence across all business units at all levels of the company
• Strong writing, editing and proofing skills (including writing for publications)
• Strong organizational and planning skills; ability to manage and prioritize multiple projects and pay attention to details
• Proficient computer skills, including word processing, computer presentation graphics, spreadsheets and database management software
• Ability to work in a fast paced environment
• Ability to establish partnerships with senior level business partners
• Ability to turn complex information and ideas into logical, easy-to-follow messages
• Proven ability to plan, organize, prioritize and effectively manage multiple projects concurrently and develop in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to quickly master complex issues and processes outside immediate area of expertise
• Ability to be both strategic and tactical based on project needs
• Strong consulting skills to uncover business needs, make recommendations, and develop solutions
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
