Job Title Store Design Intern

Location: Corporate

Position Summary: The Store Design Intern supports the Store Design team in the day-to-day activities and projects. This includes the review and cataloging of cabinetry shop drawings, assistance with presentations, maintenance for existing prototypes and managing of the materials library. Requires cross functional coordination with Store Design, Space Planning, Operations Engineering, Advertising, Retail Implementation and external Wawa vendors.

Principal Duties:

Assist in reviewing cabinetry and furniture specifications and building materials which can include graphics, interiors and exterior finishes and lighting.      Assist with production of drawings (floor plans, equipment plans, elevations and 2D & 3D design rendering, in the following systems: AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam, SketchUp & Photoshop.Work with all outside architectural firms, material and equipment vendors and internal Wawa departments.Assist in the verification the equipment, cabinet and material specifications.Organized and update our Store Design data bases to current new store and construction standards.Travel to site locations and observe and report on in the field construction conditions.  Research and investigate potential new materials, finishes, manufacturers, and fixtures.Conduct research on Building Codes, Health Code and Regulatory Issues including accessibility.Maintain the drawing document computer archives to ensure the preservation of all approved permit drawing sets and record drawings.

Basic Qualifications:

Minimum GPA of 3.0 or HigherCandidates must be currently enrolled in a college or university for the Spring 2025 semester – Fall 2026 semesterCandidate must be available from May 19, 2025 – August 7, 2025Studying towards an architectural or interior design degreeStrong knowledge and proficient user of AutoCADStrong in 3D visualization proficient skills with use of SketchUpHigh Proficiency in Adobe PhotoshopKnowledge in spreadsheet based analytical tools, in the MS Office suite of programs, including Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote and PublisherWawa currently observes a 4-day in office schedule Monday - Thursday with an opportunity to work remote on Friday.
