As a store designer, you will contribute to Starbucks success by supporting the regional store design process to create outstanding store designs in influential markets that uphold the Starbucks Customer Experience. Our stores are the heart of the Starbucks Experience. In Store Design, we co-build with our partners in other parts of the organization to create welcoming Third Places that support daily coffee rituals and connection, in ways that make people feel comfortable and cared for.

As a store designer, you will…

·    Execute Design strategy in design of Starbucks stores through all phases of design from schematic through construction documents and administration within parameters of individual store budgets and market requirements with alignment from cross-functional teams.

·    Experience success by contributing to studio team goals by achieving target deliverables on number of stores and meeting all established deadlines through the lens of Starbucks Missions and Values while supported with regular development meetings with your manager.

·    Develop design documentation to support design intent per regional guidelines including schematic drawings and finish palettes and manage the production of construction documents by internal and external designers and consultants. Be responsible for the integrity and quality of the construction documents inclusive of design intent, detailing, code requirements, scheduling and MEPs.

·    Enjoy working on an energetic, fun team and have a clear ability to drive the business forward as part of a highly collaborative team, while acting in accordance with Starbucks guiding principles.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors' degree or diploma in the design discipline from a recognized educational institution.

Preferred: Professional licensing, qualification and/or credentials in Architecture or Interior Design and a recognized sustainable program.

SKILLS

Demonstrated experience with retail, hospitality or restaurant design including management of construction documents. Current knowledge of retail, hospitality or restaurant industry trends, including furniture and finishes. Proficient using Revit and/or SketchUp for 3D modeling and architectural drawings. Design management experience, including coordination with architecture and engineering consultants. Current working knowledge of building and health code compliance. Demonstrated 3D visualization ability and working knowledge of color and design principles. Design with functional criteria and budget objectives. Ability to execute multiple designs under tight deadlines. Ability to communicate design with sketches and drawings. Skilled in visual, written and verbal communication. Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for construction document production. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite. Proficiency with Adobe InDesign and Photoshop. Proficiency with Enscape rendering system. Proficiency with Adobe creative cloud apps. Advanced project management in a fast-paced environment.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above.  For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.

 If you live in the greater Dallas, TX area, we offer a flexible workplace that allows for hybrid work. Partners can work remotely up to two days per week.

The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
