Store Development Construction Intern

The internship program is scheduled to take place from May to August. OVERVIEW Assist in various tasks within the Store Development - Construction Department. Provide support in construction management and administrative tasks related to commercial construction. Assist in aspects of construction including estimating, budgeting, project management (Site, Petroleum, Building Construction), invoicing, and financial reporting. RESPONSIBILITIES (other duties may be assigned) • Review project contract scopes of work, drawings, contracts, permits, special conditions, geotechnical issues, environmental issues, etc., with the assigned Project Manager(s) before starting project(s). • Collaborate with Project Manager(s) to develop a construction schedule outline and establish milestone completion dates for the start and finish of major construction activities, inspections, and required Sheetz-supplied material delivery dates. • Provide accurate coding and timely processing of invoices and purchase orders for all Store Development Petroleum and Construction projects and verify payments to sub-contractors and material suppliers. • Perform general office duties including, but not limited to, answering telephones, word processing, copying, and filing. QUALIFICATIONS Education • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related field required. Experience • No experience required. • Previous experience with Microsoft Office Suite preferred. • Previous experience with reading construction drawings and plans preferred.
