Store Inventory Support Specialist

The Specialist provides support to the Inventory Control Department, primarily working with Microsoft Excel spreadsheets and queries, compiling reports, and correspondence with stores and district managers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Calculate new store allowance owed from suppliers and report this to the finance department monthly.

Compile and issue credit claims to suppliers quarterly, this includes researching discrepancies as requested.

Prepare and issue various monthly reports, including researching store inventory variances related to the store inventory report.

Follow up with stores as needed for quantity on hand corrections.

Utilize Microsoft Excel Query to gather data and update various spreadsheets, often summarizing information.

Maintain various files based on email communication of updates or changes.

Create store communication on company intranet with instructions for completing overstock returns based on the schedule from the returns team.

Create and submit store assignments for miscellaneous stock lifts each week based on project agenda, and complete various supporting tasks.

Determine store compliance on stock lift returns using Microsoft Excel and AS400 programs, and issue follow up notices to store, district and regional managers.

Must appropriately prioritize and complete various tasks throughout the day including some routine, and others assigned by members of management.

Provide phone support for the department, which includes answering questions on a variety of topics.

Cross-train to learn duties of other support staff in the department and fill in as needed.

Order supplies for department copiers/printers as needed and keep supplies stocked.

Distribute department mail and assemble label packets to be mailed to stores as needed.

All other duties as assigned.

SKILLS/EDUCATION/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE/ABILITIES

REQUIRED

High school diploma or equivalent (GED)

Detail oriented with a high level of accuracy and the ability to meet multiple and simultaneous deadlines

Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to use sound judgement

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis on customer service

Proficient use of Microsoft Excel

Must convey a positive and professional image

1-year office experience

DESIRED

Experience answering a professional business phone

Advanced Excel skills including queries
