Job Summary:
As a Lead Storefront Installer, you will lead the execution of high-end storefront installation projects, ensuring they are completed safely, efficiently, and with the highest quality standards. You will collaborate closely with operations, installation, and project managers to support the installation team daily. This role involves direct communication with customers, providing daily updates and fostering strong relationships to ensure client satisfaction. Additionally, you will take an active, hands-on role in installations, offering leadership and technical expertise to guide the project to successful completion. Adherence to Jones Sign’s safety policies and core values is essential, with a focus on maintaining a zero recordable injury expectation.
Duties and Expectations:
+ Blueprint Reading: Interpret and implement project blueprints to ensure correct installation of systems.
+ Coaching & Training: Provide on-the-job training and guidance to team members, helping them improve their skills and adhere to safety standards.
+ Professionalism: Maintain a high level of professionalism on job sites, ensuring that all team members do the same.
+ Safety Compliance: Uphold and exceed OSHA 1926 standards and other safety regulations at all times.
+ Problem-Solving: Use high-level problem-solving skills and adaptability to resolve challenges on the job site.
+ Independent Task Completion: Complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision, ensuring timely project completion.
+ Jobsite Schedule Management: Effectively manage and track jobsite schedules to ensure projects stay on target.
+ Product Knowledge: Apply knowledge of Aluminum Storefront, Curtain Wall, and Custom Extrusion glass entrance systems.
+ Glass Installation: Glaze, set, and wet seal glass lites as part of the installation process.
+ Physical Requirements: Capable of lifting and moving materials without restrictions, working in a physically demanding environment.
+ Equipment Operation: Comfortable operating scissor lifts, boom lifts, scaffolds, and other necessary equipment.
+ Tool Proficiency: Demonstrate extensive knowledge and use of a wide variety of power tools and equipment to perform tasks efficiently.
Education, Experience, and Skills:
+ Experience: Previous experience in storefront installation.
+ Equipment Proficiency: Ability to operate glass setting equipment such as SpiderCrane, Smartlift, and Manipulators.
+ Metal Installation: Knowledge of installing brake metal and decorative metals.
+ Carpentry Skills: Ability to install and field modify materials such as aluminum, stainless steel and wood to provide a high-end finish product.
+ Field Modifications: Ability to modify extrusions and brake metals in the field to accommodate job site conditions.
+ Sealant Application: Proficient in tooling caulk/silicone for proper sealing.
+ Work Ethic: Willingness to stay until the job is complete, including working overtime when needed.
+ Travel & Flexibility: Comfortable traveling and handling a variety of tasks daily.
+ Self-Motivated: Ability to stay focused and self-manage without direct supervision.
+ Leadership: Demonstrated ability to lead a team and support coworkers in achieving project goals.
+ Teamwork & Communication: Strong teamwork skills with a commitment to customer service and clear communication.
+ Customer-Focused: Display a customer service mentality to ensure client satisfaction throughout the project.
