We are currently hiring a Storekeeper to join the team at our mechanical evaporation facility in Unity, Saskatchewan.

Located in the western part of Saskatchewan, Compass Minerals’ Unity Mechanical Evaporation Plant is one of the company’s four mechanical evaporation plants. The plant produces and packages a wide variety of salt products including water conditioning salt, bulk salt, food-grade salt and salt for agriculture. The Unity Evaporation Plant is located in a friendly community of 2,500 that loves hockey and curling, situated in the beautiful big-sky prairies, an hour from North Battleford and a 2-hour drive from Saskatoon. Overview: Reporting to the Purchasing Supervisor, the Storekeeper’s primary responsibility will be the management of all materials onsite. The Storekeeper will be responsible for the flow of materials between receiving dock and issue to work order/job. Additionally, the Storeskeeper will also assist in the contacting of vendors to ensure the proper flow of materials, as well as communicating with end-users on the status of materials.

How will you contribute to the team?

To perform this role successfully, the candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

Receive, process, and store incoming direct and indirect materials physically and electronically in Computerized Maintenance Management System, EnterpriseOne Inspect, catalog, and label all materials in the storeroom in an organized and easily accessible manner, paying specific attention to all material that may have safety and food safety requirements.Stocking shelves according to EnterpriseOne guidelines conducting ad-hoc cycle counts while ensuring cleanliness in material handling areas including all spare parts. Perform routine cycle counts and promptly report results to Purchasing Supervisor or designate, contributing to inventory accuracy.Maintain and track all non-stock materials as classified in EnterpriseOne system until usage or timely return to vendor.Ensure adherence to all safety and food safety regulations, fostering a secure work environment, including participate in the Food Safety program and activities.Participate in special ‘projects’ related to the storeroom.Ensure the efficient flow of chemicals and materials into the plant, prioritizing safety, and regulatory compliance.Assume basic purchasing responsibilities in the absence of the Purchasing Supervisor.Perform other duties asassigned.
