This position is represented by SEIU Local 2007 and the collective bargaining agreement between the university and SEIU Local 2007 governs the terms and conditions of employment.

This is a 2-year fixed term position.

About the Position:

 

Under the direction of the lead or Supervisor, employees in this classification, perform the varied storekeeping functions described with limited independence.

 

Stanford Auxiliary Library is a high-density, high-efficiency, preservation warehouse located in Livermore California. The Storage Facility Worker receives, process and Shelve library items (such as books, boxes, flat materials) received from Stanford’s campus libraries.  Once processed, these items become available to circulate to the Stanford campus locations. As requests from campus are received, the Storage Facility Worker picks items that are ordered, processes them via routine procedures, and prepares them for delivery. Also, will assist the deliverer by riding in a truck as a passenger and help load and unload material.

 

Schedule: Monday to Friday 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 pm. or 9 am to 6:00 pm

Location: Livermore, California

 

Core Duties*:

 

·               Receive, store, and issue equipment, materials, merchandise, or tools in a warehouse, stockroom, or storeroom.

·               Check incoming order again items listed on requisition, paperwork, invoice or other proper form.

·               Store supplies in bins, on floor, or on shelves, depending on the nature of the article in a convenient location or position for removal when needed.

·               Mark articles with identifying codes, figures, or letters when required.

·               Fill orders from requisitions or issue supplies and stock upon proper request or authority.

·               Assist in periodic inventory or in keeping a perpetual inventory.

·               Record receipt of equipment, and verify goods received as to specifications of the original order.

·               Request or order supplies when needed.

·               Make special purchases under authorized requisitions or make request for special purchases.

·               Prepare necessary forms, documents, work orders and/or reports.

·               May assist the faculty or staff in setting up and in operating items of equipment from the store for lectures, regular laboratory work, or special demonstrations.

·               Adhere to safety rules.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

 

Education and Experience:

 

●     High School diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

 

●     Knowledge of storeroom, stockroom and warehouse procedures.

●     Must be able to understand and to follow oral and/or written instructions and be able to keep simple records.

●     Ability to move moderately heavy or bulky supplies or equipment (e.g. 30 to 40 pound boxes.

●     Valid California Class C Non-commercial Driver’s License.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

·         Must be able to push and maneuver a fully loaded cart weighing up to 650 pounds that requires an initial push force up to 70 pounds.

·         Must be able to operate stand-up order picker.

Working Conditions:

 

·         May be required to work overtime, evenings and weekends, including Holidays, sometimes in inclement weather conditions.

The expected pay range for this position is $31.29/hour. Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position. The pay offered to a selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as (but not limited to) the scope and responsibilities of the position, the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal equity, geographic location, and external market pay for comparable jobs.
